Norton Reveals Surprise 450cc Urban Bike, Sales Start 2027

IN SHORTNorton has revealed a 450cc urban motorcycle with a 454cc single-cylinder engine, 45Nm of torque and an 8-inch TFT screen, set to go on sale in 2027.

Norton has revealed a new 450cc urban motorcycle, and it goes on sale in 2027. The British brand is using the bike to enter a segment it has never played in, and it is doing so under the ownership of TVS Motor Company.

The motorcycle runs a liquid-cooled, 454cc single-cylinder engine that produces 45Nm of torque. Norton has built it around an aluminium frame, which the company says is designed to deliver agile handling and a confidence-inspiring ride. A central feature is an 8-inch TFT touchscreen with advanced connectivity options.

Norton has not disclosed the power output or the rest of the mechanical specifications. That leaves a big gap for a bike that is already drawing attention. What the company has shared is its styling direction, which it describes as a muscular stance, clean proportions and close attention to detail.

A bike built on a bigger comeback

The 450cc model is part of a wider product push that started when Norton was revived under TVS Motor. At EICMA 2025, the brand unveiled four new-generation motorcycles: the Manx, Manx R, Atlas and Atlas GT. Deliveries of the Manx R and Atlas have already started in European markets. The Manx and Atlas GT are scheduled to follow.

Norton’s design direction is also getting recognition outside the showroom. The Manx R won the Red Dot: Best of the Best distinction at the 2026 Red Dot Award: Design Concept. It had already succeeded at the 2026 International Design Excellence Awards, known as IDEA.

The brand is also working with architecture firm Foster + Partners on a new global retail concept. The aim is a consistent brand experience across every dealership, so a rider in one market walks into the same Norton as a rider in another.

The company says the new model combines its traditional design philosophy with contemporary engineering and technology.

Backed by TVS engineering

Norton’s revival is funded and engineered with TVS Motor Company’s investment and capabilities behind it. The company is developing its Solihull facility in the UK into a centre for motorcycle design and engineering. It also draws on TVS Motor’s global engineering centre in Italy and its research and development headquarters in India.

That mix matters for this bike. A single-cylinder 450cc machine is a different kind of product from the brand’s existing lineup, and the engineering base spans the UK, Italy and India. The company has not said which of those centres led the work on the new model.

What it means for India

Norton is preparing to enter the Indian market, and the new 450cc motorcycle is expected to play a central role in that move. The bike is intended to make the Norton name reachable for a wider group of buyers, not only enthusiasts who already know the brand.

The R&D headquarters that supports the project sits in India. That gives the Indian market a direct link to where the bike was developed, even before the first launch there.

Retail footprint and the road ahead

Norton currently runs a retail network of more than 50 locations across 10 markets. Those include the UK, Italy, France, Germany and Spain. The company is also preparing to enter the United States alongside India, which means the 450cc bike could become its most widely sold model if the plan lands.

Sales are scheduled to begin in 2027. The official model name has not been announced yet, and the company says further details will come ahead of launch. EICMA is where the next round of information is expected, and that is where buyers and rivals will look for the power figures Norton has so far kept back.

For now, the reveal is short on numbers and long on intent. Norton is signalling that it wants to be more than a heritage name, and a 450cc urban bike is the clearest sign yet that it plans to sell to a much larger crowd.
