Sony’s WH-1000XM5 noise canceling wireless headphones are selling for $127.99 on eBay, through seller Secondipity, after shoppers apply coupon code SAVE20TECH. The offer is available for a limited time.
That price is more than 60 percent below the $349 retail price of a new pair. The headphones are certified refurbished, and eBay provides an extended 2-year AllState warranty with the purchase.
Secondipity is described as a large Sony liquidator. Reviews from people who have ordered from the seller point to a product that is hard to tell apart from a new one.
the headphones they’ve received are pretty much indistinguishable from brand new
Why the XM5 still gets attention. The XM5 is the predecessor to the current WH-1000XM6, which is also on sale right now. It is no longer the newest model, but it remains a strong option at a much lower price than its successor.
Reviewer Kevin Wong considered the XM5 the best wireless noise canceling headphones at the time of his review. The headphones offer excellent sound quality, strong noise canceling, and comfortable ergonomics. They also have a sleek design for headphones and a 30-hour battery life with USB Type-C charging.
The XM5 competes with other premium models, including the Bose QuietComfort Ultra and AirPods Max. That puts a refurbished pair at this price in direct contention with some of the most popular names in the category.
Why shoppers are moving fast. Deals on premium audio rarely drop this far, and the price gap between the XM5 and the XM6 makes the older model a clear value play for buyers who do not need the latest features. Eric Song, the commerce manager who hunts for gaming and tech deals every day, is the kind of bargain watcher who tracks these moves closely.
With Black Friday approaching, a discount this steep creates pressure to decide quickly. The coupon code and the limited window mean shoppers who wait may find the price has changed.
What to check before buying. The unit is refurbished rather than brand new, so the included warranty matters. Buyers should confirm the coupon code applies at checkout and review the warranty terms on the eBay listing before committing.
