Cyclone Murasu Train Cancellations: Full List for Nov 3

IN SHORTCyclone Murasu disrupts AP trains as South Coast Railway cancels, diverts and reschedules services. Check your train’s NTES status before leaving home.

Severe cyclonic storm Murasu has made landfall near Ongole in south Andhra Pradesh, and South Coast Railway has pulled a long list of trains off the timetable. If your train appears on the cancellation list, do not leave for the station until you have confirmed its status.

The storm is bringing torrential rain and gale-force winds of up to 100 kmph across the region. It has severely disrupted normal life in Prakasam district and surrounding areas, and the railway network has taken a direct hit.

Vijayawada-Ongole-Gudur section shut temporarily

The Vijayawada Division of South Coast Railway has announced a temporary suspension of train movements on the Vijayawada-Ongole-Gudur section. The railway said the move is aimed at ensuring passenger safety and safe rail operations.

Passengers planning to travel through these routes are strictly advised to verify running status on official channels, such as the NTES app. Do not rely on old timetables or station boards alone.

The cancelled trains

South Coast Railway has issued official bulletins confirming the cancellation of key passenger and express services on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The cancellations were made in view of passenger safety.

The affected services include 67260 from Bitragunta to Vijayawada and 17260 from Vijayawada to Gudur. Also cancelled are 67203 from Gudur to Renigunta and 17259 from Nellore to Vijayawada. Travellers on 67258 from Vijayawada to Narasapur and 67246 from Narasapur to Rajahmundry should check before they travel.

Local shuttle services are also off the board. These include 67273 from Vijayawada to Ongole and 67274 from Ongole to Vijayawada. Chennai-bound passengers are affected too, with 12711 running from Vijayawada to MGR Chennai Central and 12712 from MGR Chennai Central to Vijayawada both listed as cancelled.

Other cancelled services include 67204 from Renigunta to Nellore, 67226 from Gudur to Vijayawada, and 12743 from Gudur to Vijayawada. The list also covers 67238 from Repalle to Markapur Road, 67239 from Markapur Road to Tenali, 67236 from Tenali to Guntur, and 12709 from Gudur to Secunderabad.

The 22869 Visakhapatnam to Chennai Central train was controlled at Bapatla. Why Telangana travellers should pay attention

The disruption is not confined to coastal Andhra Pradesh. Several services that run to and from Telangana are caught up in the changes, and passengers heading to Hyderabad, Secunderabad and northern Telangana stations should check their trains closely.

The 17405 Tirupati to Adilabad train has been diverted via Renigunta, Gooty, Dhone, Kacheguda and Bolarum, with stoppages between Renigunta and Bolarum skipped. The 12651 Madurai to Hazrat Nizamuddin service is being routed via Gooty, Dhone, Kacheguda and Balharshah.

Trains heading north through Telangana are also affected. The 06073 Thiruvananthapuram North to Hazrat Nizamuddin train has been diverted via Kacheguda, Moula Ali, Kazipet and Manchiryal. The 16787 Tirunelveli to Katra service is routed via Kazipet and Ramagundam, skipping stoppages between Renigunta and Ramagundam. The 16093 Chennai Central to Lucknow train will skip stops between Gudur and Jammikunta.

What passengers should do now

Check your train’s running status on the NTES app before you leave home. Confirm whether the service is cancelled, rescheduled, diverted or simply held at a station, because the list changes fast in a storm.

If you are travelling on a Vijayawada-Ongole-Gudur route, expect the most disruption. Keep your ticket details ready and monitor official railway channels for updates as conditions change.
