Diwali Special Trains 2026: SCR Unveils 22 Services

IN SHORTSCR announces 22 Diwali special trains running Oct 26 to Nov 5 via Telangana routes. Get timings, stops, coach details and open berth counts today.

South Central Railway has announced 22 special trains to handle the expected Diwali passenger rush across several routes in the Telugu states. The services will run from October 26 to November 5, and the railway said the move is meant to control crowding and give travellers a smoother journey during the festival.

The details came through an official press statement that laid out the schedules for each service. The railway had already announced several special trains earlier. This latest update brings the total to 22 services now being made available for the festive period.

If you are planning a trip home, the good news is that bookings have already started. Passengers can reserve seats online in advance, which is the simplest way to avoid standing in line when the festival crowds build up.

The Secunderabad–Sirpur Kagaznagar Run

The headline service is train 07711, which runs from Secunderabad to Sirpur Kagaznagar between October 26 and November 5. It leaves Secunderabad at 12:10 pm and reaches Sirpur Kagaznagar at 5:30 pm.

The return journey is train 07712. It departs Sirpur Kagaznagar at 6 pm and reaches Hyderabad at 11:15 pm. That gives commuters and families a clear evening window for both directions of travel.

The trains will halt at Charlapalli, Bhongir, Yadadri, Janagaon, Kazipet, Jammikunta, Peddapalli, Ramagundam, Mancherial, Bellampalli and Asifabad Road. That list covers a wide stretch of northern and central Telangana, so the service will matter to passengers boarding at smaller towns, not only in the big cities.

Three coach types are on offer: AC chair car, reserved second sitting and general second class. The mix gives passengers a choice between comfort, a reserved seat and a cheaper general ticket.

Bookings for these trains have already begun, and passengers can book online in advance to plan their journey.

Where the Berths Still Stand

The statement also listed seat availability on several other festival trains. For Charlapalli–Nizamuddin train 07021, 42 berths are open on November 16, 581 on the 23rd and 658 on November 30.

Train 07023 on the same Charlapalli–Nizamuddin route shows 147 berths on November 17 and 705 on November 24. Those numbers suggest that some dates are filling faster than others, so travellers with flexible plans may want to pick a less crowded day.

Nanded–Panipat train 07635 has 53 berths available on November 27. Charlapalli–Prayagraj train 04122 lists 285 berths on November 24 and 369 on December 1. Charlapalli–Prayagraj train 07077 has 121 berths on October 27, the earliest date listed in the statement.

These figures are a snapshot taken from the railway’s statement, so the picture can change quickly as more passengers book. Anyone with a fixed travel date should check availability before making other plans.

Why Telangana Is at the Center of This

The routes sit squarely inside Telangana, linking Hyderabad and Secunderabad with towns in the north and centre of the state. For families heading to Peddapalli, Mancherial, Bellampalli or Asifabad Road, the new services offer a direct alternative during a period when seats are hard to find.

For the state’s travel network, the announcement is a clear sign that the railway is preparing early rather than reacting once crowds arrive. Passengers who once faced long waiting lists now have a fresh set of options to compare before they book.

Travellers should confirm timings, stations and coach availability with the official schedule before leaving home. Diwali travel leaves little room for missed connections, and a few minutes of checking now can save a long wait at the platform later.
