Prabhas is set to step back onto the Kalki 2 set next week, right after returning from Europe, where he went to celebrate his birthday. The move gives fans their clearest look yet at the Rebel Star’s upcoming slate.
For months, supporters spread across India have been guessing at the order of his films. The birthday update changes that. Prabhas currently has more than half a dozen big projects in hand, and the plan for when each one goes before the cameras is now coming into focus.
Kalki 2 goes first
Kalki 2, directed by Nag Ashwin, is the first project waiting for Prabhas once he is back from abroad. The schedule is set to pick up the week after his return, which means the production wastes no time getting its lead back on the floor.
The star is not stepping away from his other work to do it. Fauji, a periodic action drama directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, and Spirit, a high-voltage cop drama directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, are both being pushed forward at the same time as Kalki 2.
Three films, three different genres, and all of them moving at once. Prabhas is reportedly adjusting his looks and his dates so that each film gets the attention it needs. That kind of juggling is demanding even for an actor working at his scale, and it explains why the schedule has been so hard to read from the outside.
Salaar 2 waits its turn
The biggest shift in the update concerns Salaar 2: Shouryanga Parvam, which has been put on hold. The film will not go into production until one of the three projects currently active, Fauji, Kalki 2 or Spirit, is fully completed.
The reasoning behind the call is laid out clearly in the report. The idea is to avoid carrying four heavy action films at the same time, and to make sure none of them gives up quality along the way.
The goal is to avoid the weight of four big action films landing at once, and to make sure quality is never compromised.
That condition is the heart of the update. Salaar 2 is no longer on an open timeline. It now depends on which of the three ongoing films finishes first, and the report does not attach a completion date to any of them.
What fans can take from this
For a star whose films have dominated the pan-India box office, the real question has always been sequencing. Who shoots first, who waits and what it means for release plans. This update answers the first part directly. Kalki 2 comes next, Fauji and Spirit keep running alongside it, and Salaar 2 sits in the queue behind them.
The update also shows how much planning sits behind the scenes. Three different genres, three different directors and a lead who has to change his look for each one. The report frames the decision as a way to protect the work, not to rush it.
Fans who have been waiting for Salaar 2 will need more patience, but they now know what that wait depends on. The next confirmed step is simple: Prabhas back on the Kalki 2 set next week.
TL;DR
- Prabhas returns from Europe and rejoins Kalki 2 sets next week.
- Fauji and Spirit will continue in parallel with Kalki 2.
