Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is coming back to theatres, and Shah Rukh Khan’s fans are getting the birthday present they wanted. The cult romance, known as DDLJ, will be re-released on screens to mark the Bollywood superstar’s birthday, with a limited number of shows at major multiplex chains including PVR and INOX.

Raj and Simran return to the big screen

The film holds a special place in Shah Rukh Khan’s career. It stands as one of the biggest blockbusters of his filmography and has earned a lasting place as a cult classic love story. Now, a new generation of viewers and longtime admirers can experience it in a theatre again.

The re-release is built around the magic of Raj and Simran. Their love story has stayed with audiences for years, and the idea of watching it once more on a large screen has fans counting down the days. For many viewers, the theatre is where this film truly comes alive, and this release gives them exactly that chance.

Raj and Simran’s magical love story is set to be seen once again on the big screen.

The screenings are limited, with a restricted number of screens across the chains. That makes the release feel like a special event rather than a routine reissue. Fans who want to catch it will need to plan ahead, because limited shows tend to sell out fast when the title carries this much affection.

A double celebration for the birthday

The DDLJ re-release is not the only treat planned for the day. Reports indicate that the teaser for King, one of the most awaited films in which Shah Rukh Khan stars, will also be released on his birthday. Put together, the two announcements give fans a film from the star’s past and a glimpse of what lies ahead in the same celebration.

That pairing is what makes this moment stand out. One release brings back a story that defined a generation of romance lovers. The other builds excitement for a future project that has already drawn strong anticipation. Together, they show how the actor’s legacy and his upcoming work are sharing the spotlight on his birthday.

Why this moment matters to fans

For Shah Rukh Khan’s admirers, this is more than a screening schedule. It is a reminder of why his films continue to draw crowds across years and generations. DDLJ has long been celebrated for its warmth, its music, and the chemistry at its centre. Bringing it back to theatres lets fans relive those feelings in the same shared space where the film first found its audience.

There is also the simple joy of the moment. Fans have been waiting eagerly to see Raj and Simran together on the big screen again, and the birthday timing gives the wait a happy purpose. The excitement is loud, and it is growing with every update about the screenings and the teaser.

Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday has become a day when his fans celebrate him with the films that shaped his career. This year, that celebration carries two reasons to cheer. DDLJ returns to the screen with its iconic love story intact, and King’s teaser is set to arrive on the same day. For fans, it is a birthday they will remember, and a triumphant reminder that the romance at the heart of DDLJ still has the power to fill theatres.
