PM Modi Gujarat Visit: Rs 14,000 Cr Projects Unveiled

IN SHORTModi’s two-day Gujarat visit: Rs 14,000 crore projects, Rs 19,000 crore PM-KISAN release, Statue of Unity and Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2 foundation stones.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives in Gujarat on Friday for a two-day visit to inaugurate and dedicate development projects worth Rs 14,000 crore to the nation. He will also release the 24th instalment of PM-KISAN payouts amounting to Rs 19,000 crore and flag off two train services.

The tour is packed. Officials say the Prime Minister will visit Ekta Nagar, home to the tallest statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, to inaugurate the cultural and tourism festival Bharat Parv 2026 and take part in the Narmada aarti.

Banaskantha Dairy Push Comes First

The Friday schedule starts in Banaskantha. Modi will visit the Embryo Transfer Technology-In Vitro Fertilisation Laboratory and the Bharat Bovine Breeding and Research Centre there, then address a gathering.

The centre is a 127-acre facility. Modi signalled its importance in a post on X on Thursday night, and it is the most personal message of the trip so far.

"What does the next big leap in India’s animal husbandry and dairy sector look like? To know that, come to Banaskantha, Gujarat! A 127-acre, Bovine Breeding and Research Centre is being launched tomorrow, 30th October. It is a great example of how science and innovation are furthering the welfare of our farmers," Modi said.

The message frames the project as a farmer welfare story as much as a research one. That framing matters because the same trip also includes a large batch of agriculture infrastructure.

Rs 4,950 Crore Agriculture Infrastructure Goes Live

Modi will dedicate 521 projects completed under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund. Their combined project cost is around Rs 4,950 crore.

The list is wide. It includes cold storage facilities and cold chains, warehouses, silos, polyhouses and greenhouses, integrated primary and secondary processing facilities, and primary processing centres. For farmers who lose produce to heat and delay, cold chains and storage are the difference between a harvest sold and a harvest wasted.

Ekta Nagar Gets Its Own Big Day

On October 31, the Prime Minister returns to the Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar. He will offer floral tributes, lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various development projects worth over Rs 400 crore.

He will then visit the Rain Forest and Vaman Vriksha Vatika in Ekta Nagar. Afterwards he takes part in the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations, which mark the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The same day, Modi will formally inaugurate Bharat Parv 2026. The festival is framed as a celebration of India’s cultural heritage and national unity, reflecting the spirit of "Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat". It gives states and Union territories a platform to show off their traditions, folk performances, regional cuisines, handicrafts and tourist attractions.

Officials expect the festival, which runs until November 15, to lift tourism in Ekta Nagar and nearby destinations. That is a five-week window for hotels, guides and local vendors.

Ahmedabad Metro and a Rs 2,600 Crore Highway

Modi will lay the foundation stones for Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2A and Phase 2B. Phase 2A covers over 6 kilometres and five stations, running from Koteshwar Road to the airport. Phase 2B covers over 3.3 kilometres and three stations, from GIFT City to Shahpur.

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the upgrade of the Ahmedabad-Mehsana Road, State Highway-41. The road will move from four lanes to eight, at a cost of around Rs 2,600 crore. Officials say the work will make travel between Ahmedabad and North Gujarat faster, safer and more comfortable.

For commuters on that corridor, the promise is simple: fewer jams and a safer ride. The project will be judged by whether it is delivered on schedule.

Child-Friendly Anganwadis Get a Rs 800 Crore Boost

The visit also covers early childhood. Modi will lay the foundation stone for 4,030 new child-friendly Anganwadi centres, and inaugurate 361 completed ones across Gujarat.

With an investment of Rs 800 crore, the initiative is expected to benefit more than 4 lakh people. The numbers show a state moving from announcements to bricks, and the next test is how fast the new centres open their doors.

Bold Political Signal, Big Money Headline

Taken together, the Gujarat package stacks up quickly. Development projects worth Rs 14,000 crore, a Rs 19,000 crore PM-KISAN release, Rs 4,950 crore in agriculture infrastructure and Rs 800 crore for Anganwadis form the core of a two-day programme.

The PM-KISAN payout alone is the largest single figure on the agenda, and it reaches farmers directly. Whether the infrastructure, the metro lines and the highway deliver on their promise will show up over the next several years, long after the ribbon-cutting ends.
