A chilling double murder has rocked Bengaluru, leading to the arrest of a woman and her alleged lover for the premeditated killing of her husband, Abhinandan, 38, and their five-year-old son. The situation escalated when Harini reportedly met Vinay, 30, through the social media platform Snapchat in December 2024. This encounter quickly blossomed into an illicit relationship. Harini allegedly pressed Abhinandan for a divorce, expressing her desire to live with Vinay.

Abhinandan grew suspicious of his wife’s communications. About 15 days before the murders, he approached the police to seek her call detail records, a move that reportedly intensified arguments and pushed their strained relationship to a breaking point.

A Premeditated Act

Investigators believe the final murder plan solidified after a violent altercation between Abhinandan and Harini on August 14. During this argument, Abhinandan allegedly assaulted his wife, a detail police suspect may have catalyzed Harini’s resolve.

Following this confrontation, Abhinandan dropped Harini at her parents’ home before visiting his mother. On Sunday evening, he picked her up, and they returned home, unaware of the sinister plot. DCP North West Nagesh confirmed Harini contacted Vinay after the August 14 incident, and they finalized their deadly scheme. Harini even purchased two pairs of gloves in advance.

The stage was set on Sunday night. As Abhinandan and his young son watched ‘Bigg Boss’, Harini allegedly prepared to execute her plan with Vinay. Police suspect the house’s CCTV cameras were deliberately switched off.

The Night of the Crime

Around 11 pm, Vinay allegedly arrived. Harini reportedly hid him near the garage before bringing him inside. After Abhinandan retired to his separate room around 11:30 pm, Harini brought Vinay into her room, meticulously checking three times to ensure her husband was sound asleep.

At around 12:30 am, Harini and Vinay allegedly donned gloves and entered Abhinandan’s room. Investigators state Vinay grabbed Abhinandan by the neck and strangled him, while Harini held his legs. The commotion tragically woke their five-year-old son.

In a horrifying turn, the child, having witnessed the attack, was then also killed. DCP Nagesh stated, "During the altercation, the child woke up. She has confessed to killing the child. Vinay Kumar is in custody and has admitted his involvement."

The deaths came to light Monday morning when Harini called police, reporting her husband and son unresponsive. A police team arrived, finding both victims dead, seemingly in sleeping positions.
