KTR Accuses Revanth Reddy, Rahul Gandhi of Telangana Loot

IN SHORTKTR accuses CM Revanth Reddy and Rahul Gandhi of looting Telangana, citing a Fourth City land deal and a Rs 1,000 crore US agreement at a BRS event.

BRS working president KTR on Sunday accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Rahul Gandhi of looting Telangana, charging that the state’s wealth is being drained while the Congress leadership in Delhi and Hyderabad fights over the spoils. The attack came at a Telangana Bhavan event where minority youth leader Jibran Sharif formally joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi.

The political temperature in the state is now running high. KTR’s remarks went well beyond routine party criticism. He put specific land and business deals on the table and asked the Chief Minister to answer for them.

The Fourth City land allegation

The sharpest charge involved the Fourth City project. KTR claimed that five acres worth roughly Rs 200 crore were allotted to the Chief Minister’s brother for only Rs 7 crore. He did not stop there. He framed the deal as proof that power was being used to hand out state assets to family.

KTR also pointed to the allegation that the government has stayed silent. In his words, the question was why the Chief Minister was not responding to the evidence being put in front of the public. He said the silence itself raised doubts about what lay behind it.

Rs 1,000 crore US deal and family stakes

KTR went on to allege that another brother of the Chief Minister, whose company is based in America, signed an agreement worth Rs 1,000 crore. He also claimed that allegations touched the CM’s daughter, his wife and his brothers, who he said hold stakes linked to these business interests.

None of these claims were answered on the stage. They were presented by KTR as accusations that the Chief Minister must address directly. The demand he made was simple: explain the deals to the people of Telangana.

“Rahul Gandhi has turned Telangana into an ATM, and Revanth Reddy is acting as its ATM card,” KTR said, translated from Telugu.

That line captured the core of his argument. KTR presented the Congress top leadership and the state government as partners in a shared extraction, not as rivals in a routine political contest.

Promises that did not reach the ground

KTR turned next to the Congress election promises. He listed doubled pensions, scooty grants for young women, and Rs 15,000 per acre under the Rythu Bharosa scheme as commitments he said the party had failed to deliver. He also accused Rahul Gandhi of disappearing after making 420 guarantees on Telangana soil.

He mocked the job calendar as unfulfilled and said young people who once served Rahul Gandhi tea at Ashok Nagar were still waiting. In his telling, the party had taken power on hope and then left voters with empty promises.

On the Mahalakshmi scheme, KTR demanded a timeline for the Rs 2,500 monthly payment and the promised scooties. These are concrete questions that the government will be expected to answer in the months ahead.

Minority declaration and Jibran Sharif’s switch

KTR singled out the minority welfare declaration that Congress announced in Hyderabad. He said the party promised Rs 4,000 crore every year in the budget for minority welfare and asked how much had actually been allocated over three years and how much had been spent.

Jibran Sharif, a minority youth leader from Khairatabad, joined the BRS on Sunday. KTR draped him with the party’s pink shawl at the event. He called the induction a positive sign and said the party would back Jibran in building the organisation in the city.

Jibran said his party would stand behind the leadership of KCR and KTR. He called KTR an icon for the state. He pointed to KTR’s tenure as IT minister under the earlier BRS government, saying it brought many industries and thousands of jobs. He also said he was confident the next government in Telangana would be a KCR government.

What this means for Telangana and Hyderabad

For Hyderabad residents, the argument is about daily life as much as big-ticket deals. KTR said the city faced power cuts and water shortages before Telangana was formed, and that the BRS government worked to fix electricity, drinking water and basic infrastructure over its decade in power.

Former minister Mahmood Ali went further, saying the Congress government has allowed law and order to slide and damaged communal harmony in the city. Talasani Srinivas Yadav added that the Chief Minister has not built a single building of his own and was taking credit for projects started under KCR, including the command control centre.

KTR also linked the state’s current troubles to the drought and water supply. He accused the government of failing to use available water and power, and claimed a threat was issued to a retired engineer who said water could be lifted at Kannepalli. These are claims the government has not been shown answering in the reporting.

Opposition claims over investigative agencies

KTR accused the state government of sending the ED, CBI and income tax department after opposition leaders who ask questions about failures. He said the BRS government never used this kind of retaliatory politics during its ten years in power.

He also said his party would not be intimidated by cases. He pledged that BRS would keep questioning the government and would hold officials accountable if they were seen acting as instruments of the Chief Minister.

The BRS pitch for 2028

KTR framed the next elections as a referendum. He said public dissatisfaction with the Congress government is growing and that poor people, farmers, unemployed youth and party workers are watching how the state treats them.

He predicted that BRS would return to power within a year and a half and said KCR would again become Chief Minister in 2028. The party, he said, would work to make Telangana the number one state in the country again.

The allegations are sharp, and the Congress response is not part of this report. What is clear is that the BRS is making corruption, land allotments and unfulfilled promises the centre of its campaign for the next election cycle.

TL;DR
