Air Chief AP Singh: No Target Beyond Indian Forces’ Reach

IN SHORTAir Chief Marshal AP Singh says no target is beyond Indian forces’ reach, citing Operation Sindoor’s precision strikes on Pakistan terror camps.

Air Chief Marshal AP Singh has said no target lies beyond the reach of Indian forces, pointing to the precision strikes on terror camps in Pakistan during last year’s Operation Sindoor as proof.

Speaking in a special interview, Singh said the operation showed what Indian forces can do when they act with clarity and precision. According to him, the Indian Air Force moved strategically during those strikes and dealt a blow to terrorists from which they could not recover.

There is no target beyond the reach of Indian forces.

Singh’s message was blunt, and it was meant to send a signal beyond the border. He said the nuclear weapons currently in the armed forces’ hands, along with advanced missile systems capable of hitting targets with accuracy, are making enemies tremble.

Indigenous weapons on the world stage

Singh also argued that Operation Sindoor gave the world a clear look at the strength of homegrown weapons. In his view, the operation proved that India’s indigenous arms can perform when it matters most.

He went further and tied domestic manufacturing to the country’s strategic future. Producing indigenous products, he said, is not only modernising the defence sector. It is also paving the way for India’s strategic self-reliance.

Indo-Pacific in focus

Singh is set to retire on October 31, and his remarks carry weight because of that timing. He said that in a world where instability continues to spread, showing India’s power and capabilities in the Indo-Pacific is essential to securing the country’s security.

The Indian Air Force, he said, is closely monitoring the situation in the Indo-Pacific. He stressed that the IAF is always ready to protect national security and to safeguard national interests.

Singh also described how the force is strengthening its partnerships. By taking on more complex exercises and operations, the IAF is building closer cooperation with the air forces of allied nations.

India, he added, is working with fellow Quad members the United States, Australia and Japan to maintain peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. The Quad partnership sits at the center of that effort.

Recent deployments offered hard lessons as well. Singh said IAF contingents sent recently to Australia, Malaysia and Thailand gave the force valuable experience in long-range missions and maritime air operations.

Why the timing matters

Singh’s comments arrive at a time when the United States and India, along with other countries, are pressing for a free and peaceful Indo-Pacific. At the same time, worries are rising worldwide about China increasing its military strength in a region rich in resources.

That is why the words of the country’s top air commander carry weight. India is sending a clear message that its air power is ready, its weapons are homegrown, and its reach extends far beyond its own borders.
