Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan has shared a video of himself playing the electric guitar, jamming with a mini band set up on his balcony in Mumbai. The clip shows him strumming a yellow electric guitar while other musicians back him on drums and other instruments. It is a rare look at a side of the actor that fans rarely see on screen.

The setup turned the balcony into a small music studio, complete with amplifiers and other equipment. Saif gave the post a playful caption that many fans are already repeating: ’Found the groove, lost the tempo, had a great time anyway.’

Found the groove, lost the tempo, had a great time anyway.

Not a passing hobby

The video is not a one-off. Saif has shown his guitar skills before and has even performed with rock bands, including Parikrama. Music has clearly been part of his life for years, and this jam session is the latest proof.

His wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, has also brought music home. In May 2025, she shared glimpses of Saif and their elder son Taimur Ali Khan jamming together at home. Kareena had missed a Guns N’ Roses concert, but she found her own musicians in the house and shared the pictures with the caption, ‘Might have missed Guns N’ Roses... but I got my own band people.’ The family jam sessions have become a recurring theme for fans who follow the couple.

Books, Instagram and a new follow

Music is not the only thing Saif has been sharing lately. He recently made his Instagram debut and posted about the Pataudi Library, with pictures of himself posing in the library and reading. The post gave fans another glimpse of his love for books.

His account choice grabbed even more attention. After joining Instagram, Saif began following only one account: his wife’s. Fans and followers reacted quickly, and many called him a ‘green flag’ for following Kareena and nobody else. It is the kind of small detail that spreads fast on social media, and it did.

From the quiz show to the ghee legend

Saif has also been in the news for a moment on Kaun Banega Crorepati. He appeared on the Amitabh Bachchan-hosted quiz show alongside Akshay Kumar to promote their film Haiwaan. His reaction after learning that the prize included two years’ worth of ghee went viral. Fans affectionately dubbed him the ‘ghee legend,’ and the nickname stuck.

The joke did not end on the quiz show. More recently, Saif appeared on The Great Indian Kapil Show alongside Kareena. There, he jokingly clarified that he was yet to receive the prize. The moment kept the ghee story alive and gave fans another reason to laugh.

Why fans keep watching

Across the guitar video, the Instagram debut, the library post and the ghee saga, a pattern is clear. Saif Ali Khan is showing audiences different sides of himself, and each one has pulled in a fresh wave of attention. The balcony jam, with its self-deprecating caption, fits that pattern neatly. He is not posing as a rock star. He is having fun, and he is letting people see it.

For a star whose public life is usually framed around films, the constant stream of personal glimpses stands out. Music, reading, family moments and quiz show laughs now sit alongside his film work. Each post invites comments, shares and jokes, and each one keeps his name in circulation.

The video also shows how easily a casual post can build curiosity. A few seconds of a balcony band, a funny caption and a wife’s follow choice were enough to start conversations across social media. Saif did not need a press release to make the moment travel. He only needed to pick up a guitar and invite the camera in.
