Gurram Paapi Reddy Review: Fun But Routine Thriller

IN SHORTGurram Paapi Reddy is a crime comedy thriller starring Naresh Agastya as a gangster on a quirky body-swapping mission amid family pursuits. Naresh shines with fun energy alongside Faria Abdullah and Jeevan's comedy while decent dialogues and BGM keep it moving. However routine plot lacks thrills with poor editing dragged scenes and weak screenplay making it feel lengthy despite crisp runtime. A below-par watch missing novelty and emotional depth.

Crime comedies can be hit-or-miss for me—when they nail the balance of laughs and tension they're gold but here Gurram Paapi Reddy felt like a familiar ride with some bumps. Released recently this film puts Naresh Agastya as Paapireddy on a bizarre crematorium mission swapping bodies while dodging a royal family. Naresh steps up nicely out of his usual zone bringing fun vibe that reminded me of those light-hearted gangster flicks I binge on weekends. Faria Abdullah holds screen well Jeevan cracks some laughs and dialogues have sharp one-liners.

BGM by Krishna Saurabh pushes scenes forward production looks neat. But man the plot is so routine—no surprises just like dozen other thrillers I've seen. No real thrills everything too light no logic in parts songs halt momentum. Editing is off making it drag badly underused talents like Yogi Babu Brahmanandam disappoint. In my opinion solid premise wasted on immature narration—works in bits for comedy but overall boring predictable. Fans of easy crime capers might enjoy Naresh but others can skip this routine outing.

TL;DR

  • Naresh Agastya delivers fun effective performance stepping out comfort zone better than previous roles.
  • Faria Abdullah provides solid screen presence fitting her character well.
  • Jeevan excels in comedy role contributing decent laughs.
  • Dialogues feature good one-liners adding some entertainment value.
  • Background score by Krishna Saurabh decent keeps narrative moving.
  • Production values neat suitable for crime comedy genre.
  • Few comedy scenes work providing occasional engagement.
  • Routine plot lacks novelty similar many past thrillers.
  • Poor editing makes crisp runtime feel unnecessarily lengthy.
  • Weak screenplay ignores emotions focuses only comedy.
