HMD has launched the 2660 Flip Senior Edition in the UK, introducing a specialized feature phone equipped with an artificial intelligence companion named Mary. The device builds upon the existing 2660 Flip design introduced in March 2025, but targets older adults through a partnership with inTouch. The phone is priced at GBP 79.99, roughly translating to Rs. 10,100, and is available in a Cosy Black colorway.

The standout addition is Mary, an AI companion designed specifically to interact with older users. Accessible via a dedicated physical button on the phone, Mary can hold conversations, answer questions, and play games. The service is available 24/7 and features personalized memory retention from previous interactions. Designed with accessibility in mind, the AI companion speaks more slowly to give users ample time to respond. Buyers receive a five-hour free trial of the service, after which it costs GBP 16.90, roughly Rs. 2,100, per month.

Under the hood, the clamshell phone features a 2.8-inch QVGA primary display paired with a 1.77-inch secondary screen. Users can answer calls by simply opening the phone and end them by closing it. Processing duties are handled by a Unisoc T107 system-on-chip, supported by 64MB of RAM and 128MB of internal storage, expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card slot. The device runs on the S30+ operating system out of the box.

Photography capabilities include a basic 0.3-megapixel rear camera accompanied by an LED flash. For multimedia and audio, the device packs a speaker, dual microphones, an FM radio, an MP3 player, and a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Powering the handset is a removable 1,450mAh battery rated for up to 8.1 hours of talk time, charged via a USB Type-C port. Connectivity options include 4G support and Bluetooth 5.0, alongside an IP54 rating for splash and dust protection.

While the device primarily focuses on international markets like the UK, the emergence of smart feature phone accessories and localized digital services highlights growing accessibility trends across global telecommunications. Consumers in regions such as Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where feature phones maintain a substantial user base alongside rapid digital adoption initiatives, continue to monitor how global hardware innovations adapt to aging demographics and connectivity needs.

Mary can hold conversations, answer questions and play games with older adults, with a dedicated button providing easy access to the service.
