Jacob & Co Shri Ramchandra Watch Priced at Rs 4.25 Crore

IN SHORTJacob & Co’s Shri Ramchandra watch, priced near Rs 4.25 crore, shows Lord Rama, Hanuman and an Ayodhya Ram Mandir replica. Only three pieces will exist.

Luxury watchmaker Jacob & Co has unveiled a rare timepiece called the Shri Ramchandra, priced at roughly Rs 4.25 crore, or $510,000. Only three pieces will be made worldwide.

The watch carries miniature representations of Lord Rama, Hanuman and the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, all worked into its dial and base. It is based on the brand’s well-known Astronomia Solar model, and it arrives after strong public interest in an earlier Ram-themed release.

A dial built around devotion

The design centres on two figures. Lord Rama sits at the 6 o’clock position and Hanuman at 9. Between them, a blue Earth turns on its axis and completes one full rotation every minute, doubling as the seconds indicator.

The saffron tones are deliberate. The dial uses an orange fire opal, a colour widely seen as a symbol of purity in Hindu tradition. Rose gold hands mark the hours and minutes, and an orange cubic zirconia stone sits at the centre of the dial to represent the sun.

A blue neorolite base carries a replica of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir along with a mandala pattern. The brand has clearly aimed for a piece that reads as devotional art first and luxury object second.

Inside the movement

The watch runs on JCAM42, a manual-wind calibre developed in-house by Jacob & Co. It contains 295 components and offers a 48-hour power reserve. Winding and time-setting are handled through two bolts on the rose gold caseback.

That caseback carries one more detail. The words Jai Shri Ram are engraved on the back, a line that will likely matter as much to buyers as the mechanics do.

The engraving appears on the rear of the watch, turning the movement side of the piece into a statement of faith.

Why the price is drawing attention

At around Rs 4.25 crore, the Shri Ramchandra sits in a bracket few buyers ever reach. The price is quoted at about $510,000, and the production run is capped at three pieces across the globe. Scarcity alone is enough to make it a collector’s item.

The release also follows the earlier Epic X Ram Janmabhoomi watch, which drew a strong response from buyers. That earlier line is priced by model at roughly Rs 35.88 lakh to Rs 1.08 crore. Placing the new edition above that range signals how much the brand believes the Ram-themed concept can carry at the top of the market.

The combination is unusual. A timepiece that pairs religious iconography, a Hindu colour palette, a Ram Mandir model and high-end Swiss-style complication work is not common in luxury watchmaking. Whether it becomes a talking point among global collectors or stays a niche Indian story will depend on how the three pieces move.

A watch that sits between faith and luxury

For many buyers, the appeal will be personal. The Ayodhya temple has become one of the most recognised religious symbols in India, and placing it on a luxury dial gives that symbolism a new kind of visibility.

For watch enthusiasts, the piece offers a rare mix of art and engineering. The hand-finished dial, the orange opal, the rotating Earth and the in-house movement all point to an object designed to be looked at closely.

Only three will exist. That is the fact that will keep this story moving, and it is likely to keep the Shri Ramchandra in conversations about luxury, culture and collecting for some time.
